Surface coatings of two-dimensional metal-organic framework nanosheets enable stable zinc anodes

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) have been considered as safe and scalable energy storage solutions, but the dendrite corrosion issues of Zn anodes hindered their further application. Herein, we demonstrate that two-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF) nanosheets can act protective coatings to prevent formation hydrogen evolution anodes. The morphology MOFs was tuned from octahedral nanoparticles (UiO-67-3D) (UiO-67-2D), leading significantly enhanced performance. UiO-67-2D nanosheets-coated displayed smaller polarization, longer cycling lifetime lower H2 than those UiO-67-3D in symmetrical cells, which has attributed higher concentration surface Zr?OH/H2O induce uniform deposition one-dimensional (1D) channels perpendicular regulate Zn2+ diffusion. assembled UiO-67-2D@Zn?Mn2O3/C full cell shows a high capacity 240 mAh g?1 at 1 A excellent stability.
